Dr. Chili Robinson Discusses Benefits of Using FDA Cleared Nutational Infrasonic Liposuction (NIL) Technology in the Treatment of Fat With Fellow Physicians at The Aesthetic Show 2009 in Las Vegas

A Belgium liposuction surgeon developed NIL when he sprained his elbow and needed to replace muscle effort with technology. Now the objective is aiding the physicians’ performance while significantly decreasing the physicians’ effort. The nutational infrasonic principle allows the removal of the fat tissue without harming any other tissues; the result is a shorter post-operative period. It also allows better precision in difficult to access areas such as the area near the ribs. It is effective where there is more fibrotic tissue such as secondary liposuctions, prior C-Sections and male liposuctions. It markedly reduces the risks inherent to other lipolysis techniques, as the cannulas do not heat up, thereby avoiding the danger of skin burning and necrosis. NIL uses a cannula powered by air pressure, which drives the tip in reciprocal, rotation and vibration directions. This triple movement “nutation,” morselizes the fatty tissue allowing easier evacuation. Emulsification is avoided, thus preserving the viability of the fat cells. Less trauma minimizes edema and swelling, resulting in a faster recovery. Most importantly, the tri-plane vibration stimulates collagen synthesis, facilitating postoperative skin tightening.
