Report clears Toyota’s name and helps reestablish trusted reputation In every business, issues are bound to arise which can test the strength of the organization. In 2009, Toyota experienced this firsthand when recall issues set off an unexpected chain reaction. Despite the aftermath, we feel our company rose to the occasion. At Hudson Toyota, Staten Island drivers knew they could count on us throughout the process and we reacted by tackling issues head on in our Toyota Service Center. We are incredibly proud of how far we have come since those trying times. As we move forward, we are pleased to be able to report the findings of a recent study that was conducted the National Highway Traffic Safety (NHTSA) and the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA). The study, which lasted for ten-months, was both thorough and exhaustive; they rigorously looked at nine vehicles, examined over 280,000 lines of software codes, and subjected the vehicles to electro-magnetic radiation. The result: they found no flaws within Toyota’s electronic system! Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood reviews the findings saying “So let me be clear: the jury is back. The verdict is in. There is no electronic-based cause for unintended high-speed acceleration in Toyotas. Period.” As for Toyota, we’re thrilled with these results! Steve St. Angelo, Toyota’s Chief Quality Officer for North America, says “Toyota welcomes the findings of NASA and NHTSA regarding our Electronic Throttle Control System with intelligence (ETCS-i) and we appreciate the thoroughness of their review. We believe this rigorous scientific analysis by some of America's foremost engineers should further reinforce confidence in the safety of Toyota and Lexus vehicles.” For more details from the NHTSA and NASA study, stop in and talk to our knowledgeable sales staff at Hudson Toyota. Staten Island drivers can continue to count on our sales staff to always provide high-quality Toyota vehicles and on our talented Toyota Service Center crew to tackle any mechanical issues that arise.
