December 17, 2011 – Office chairs and desks are in such demand the industry has grown to £7 billion, a new study has revealed. Figures from the Furniture Industry Research Association (FIRA) show that the UK furniture manufacturing turnover increased by 3.6% to a staggering £7 billion. The figures offer promising news to the office furniture industry for the coming months. Imports of furniture in 2010 were up £500m on the previous year to £4.5bn, while exports of furniture were also up on the figures from last year having increased to £849,000.
